Lauren Renea Heard is a theatrical designer, design scholar, and performer born and raised in the heart of Central California who specializes in costume design, lighting design, production management, wardrobe management, and musical theatre performance.

Lauren graduated from Fresno State in the Spring of 2022, summa cum laude and double honors with a B.A. in Theatre Arts - Design/Technology, emphasizing in costuming and lighting design. She designed costumes and lights for various University Theatre and local community productions, served on the Experimental Theatre Company student board as a costuming mentor and board chair, and completed an honors thesis exploring the costume design of the Star Wars saga as part of the College of Arts and Humanities Honors Program and the Smittcamp Family Honors Program.

Lauren is passionate about storytelling through artistry and performance, from the historical to the fantastical. Special areas of interest include science-fiction and fantasy costume design, lighting for dance, archivism, and vocal performance. As a lifelong musical performer and vocalist, Lauren aspires to continue working both behind and in front of the curtain.
